Well Mother, your birthday came and went and it was so lonely without you.  It was so hard to go to the store and see special card to Mother, and not buy you one.  I guess this was the first time in 61 years that I have not been with you on your birthday.  Everyone keeps telling me that this is going to get easier, but I miss you more every day.  There are so many things going on that I want to share with you and I still think of questions I would like to ask you.  I wish I had spent more time doing things with you, but I guess no matter how hard we try, there are always regrets.

I know you are in a better place, and your back doesn't hurt any more.  And I know that I am very selfish, but I would bring you back if I could.  If nothing more than to hug and kiss you one more time.  And tell you how very much I love you.

I will make sure that the grandkids don't forget you, and that the new ones know how special Nana was.  I am glad that at least you got to know that you had a great great grandbaby, even if you never got to hug her.  She would have loved you just like her Mother did.

i miss you nana. I remember how funny she was, she always loved to tell jokes. She always got stories mixed up with the little red hen. I always thought it was anoying but, it was still a little funny.

How can I choose just one?  My greatest memory is that Nana was always there for me, no matter what she was doing.  Whether it was playing, taking me somewhere I needed to be, or just listening, she would always stop what she was doing and be there for me.  Another memory of Nana is going to Nana and Papa's house on Saturday nights and watching our favorite shows.  She loved comedy shows.  Especially Harvey Corman and Tim Conway.  She also loved to listen to Charlie Pride sing "Kiss an Angel Good Morning" and I can remember her saying "Oh, he is so good-lookin'!"  I really got a kick out of thinking that Nana thought a man was good-looking. :)

I think one of my favorite memories of Nana was when she came to stay with me for a week when I was in college.  I got to cook for her for a change and I think this was when she taught me how to make her famous Sunshine cake.  We would watch "Nick at Nite" together in the evenings and just talk.  I got sick one night and she stayed up really late taking care of me.  I remember how nice it was just to have her there.  I am so thankful now that I was wise enough then to cherish that time and take advantage of it rather than think it was "lame" to have to spend time with my grandmother.  It turned out to be a very special memory.  :)

Hugs to you
